Making Strides In Hockey Development.

DHHD Standards & Operating Practices

Last Updated: September 4, 2025

At DHHD, we believe true growth comes from holding ourselves to high standards - not just following rules. Standards create culture, and culture builds champions.

 1. Who We Are

DHHD is an independent hockey development company. We design, deliver, and oversee skill development programs based on our professional experience and standards. Participation in our programs is earned through commitment and alignment with our values, not assumed or guaranteed.

2. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service at DHHD’s sole discretion. As a private business and hockey development program, we determine who may participate based on conduct, fit, and adherence to our standards. Decisions may be made when:

  • Conduct or behavior is inconsistent with DHHD’s values, standards, or policies.

  • A participant or family demonstrates attitudes, actions, or communication that conflict with the culture we are building.

  • Failure to comply with safety guidelines, program requirements, or payment obligations.

  • Actions disrupt or undermine the experience of other participants.

Non-Discrimination Policy: DHHD does not refuse service on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, or any other protected status. Our decisions are based solely on program standards, participant conduct, and alignment with our culture of respect, growth, and development.

3. Player Selection & Evaluation

  • DHHD Sole Discretion: All player selection decisions are made at DHHD’s sole discretion. Participation is not guaranteed and is determined by professional judgment.

  • Private Selection Process: DHHD alone determines player selection for our programs. The criteria, methods, and decision-making process are private and will not be disclosed.

  • Subjectivity of Evaluation: Hockey evaluation is not absolute. It involves many factors including skill, effort, habits, attitude, and team needs.

  • No Guarantees: Participation in a DHHD program does not guarantee future opportunities, team placements, or advancement.

  • No Preferential Advantage: Participation in DHHD programming does not provide, imply, or guarantee any advantage, placement, or preferential treatment in any other hockey program, team, or organization with which Darrell Hay or DHHD is involved in a coaching, leadership, or consulting role. All such programs operate with independent evaluation and selection processes.

4. Refund Policy

We balance fairness to families with the sustainability of our programs. Refunds are handled as follows:

  • Before Program Start:

    • More than 14 days before the start date: refund minus a 10% administrative fee.

    • Within 14 days of the start date: considered case by case and may carry a higher administrative fee.

  • After Program Start:

    • No refunds once a program has begun, except in cases of documented medical injury or family emergency.

    • In such cases, prorated credit toward future DHHD programming may be offered at our discretion.

  • Chargebacks: Participants agree not to initiate credit card chargebacks. Disputes or refund requests must be handled directly with DHHD. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in removal from current or future programs.

  • Good Faith: DHHD is committed to handling refunds and credits in a fair way that protects our reputation while ensuring program spots and costs are not unfairly compromised.

5. Assumption of Risk

Hockey is a contact sport with inherent risks. By registering, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that DHHD, its staff, and affiliates are not liable for injuries sustained during participation.

6. Code of Conduct

All players and families participating in DHHD represent our program both on and off the ice. As such:

  • All participants must show respect to coaches, staff, officials, teammates, and opponents.

  • Families and players must uphold sportsmanship, teamwork, and professionalism at all times.

  • Anyone whose actions or words harm DHHD’s reputation, devalue our program, or conflict with the culture we are building will be removed from participation immediately, without refund.

  • All participants must comply with facility rules, safety standards, and DHHD policies.

7. Amendments

DHHD reserves the right to update or modify these Standards & Operating Practices at any time. Continued participation after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised standards.
